For one thing, the policy of British perfidy has received the full glare of the spotlight, and this, as much as anything else, has been responsi- ble for the uneasy squirming which has been going on among officials of the British Colonial Of. flee. It also explains, to a consid- erable extent, the peculiar agita- tion and political nervousness which accompany all pronounce- ments on Palestine emanating from His Majesty's Government. For years Palestine affairs were coiducted behind a plush curtain through which penetrated none of the realities or needs of the out- side world.
