JACOB—FRANK
Mrs. Nellie Frank, of New York
City, announces the marriage of
her daughter Betty to Joel Ja-
cob, son of Mr. and Mrs. William
Jacob, of Chicago boulevard. The
ceremony took place Aug. 24 in
Detroit.

GILLMAN—WEISS
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gillman, of
LaSalle boulevard who were re-
cently married, entertained at
their home on Aug. 28.
Mrs. Gillman is the former Janet
Weiss, daughter of Harry Berlin,
of Boston boulevard. Mr. Gillman
is the son of Philip Gillman.

LEVINE—ISENBERG
Ethel Rose Isenberg, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. William Bernard
Isenberg, of Edison avenue, and
Dr. Edward E. Levine, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Levine, of Chica-
go, were married Aug. 31 in a
candlelight ceremony at the Stat-
ler Hotel.
The bride's gown was of old
ivory satin with a square neck
outlined in seed pearls. Her finger-
tip illusion veil was held in place
by a halo of orange blossoms. The
bride carried her great-grand-
mother's prayerbook with white
orchids and stephanotis.
The attendants were dressed in
pink and blue and carried flowers
in contrasting colors. Mrs. Sidney
S. Levine was matron of honor.
Judith Ann Isenberg, sister of the
bride, was maid of honor and
Annette Shenker was bridesmaid.
Judith Rose Mitchell, the bride's
cousin from, New York, was the
flower girl.
Dr. Sydney S. Levine acted as
best man for his brother. The
groom's ushers were Bernard R.
Isenberg and Richard Wolfe.
Rabbi Jay Kaufman, of Temple
Beth El, officiated. Tho ceremony
was followed by a dinner for rela.
dyes and intimate friends of both
families.
- Dr. and Mrs. Levine aro now
motoring through New England
and New York. They will make
their home in Detroit after a
honeymoon of three weeks.

The engagement of Blanche Thelma Rosen to Isak Abramovitz
was announced recently by the parents of the bride-elect, Mr. and
Mrs. Kaltman H. Rosen, of Tuxedo avenue. Mr. Abramovitz, dis-
charged recently after three years service in the Navy, is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Mendel Abramovitz, of Gladstone avenue. Both Mr.
Abramovitz and Miss Rosen arc students at Wayne University.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lightstone, of Hartwell avenue announce
the engagement of their daughter Marilyn to David M. Schwartz, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Schwartz, of Pingree avenue.
Mrs. Mary Rich, of Blaine avenue, announces the engagement of
her daughter Ida to Milton Freedman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mayer
Freedman, of Genessee avenue. The bride-elect attended Wayne
University and her fiance was recently discharged from the army.
The wedding date has been set for Jan. 12.
Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Kaplan, of Beverly Hills, Calif. and for-
merly of Detroit, announce the engagement of their daughter Lucille
Dorothy to Felix Schultz, son of Mrs. Natalie Schultz, of Los Angeles.

Shirley Mae Curtis, of Clair-

a year's stay at Loa Angeles. She
