Intercollegiate Zionists

The Wayne University Chapter
of the Intercollegiate Zionist Fed-
eration of America has just made
puttlic a list of delegates which
represented this group at the
First National Convention herd
June 21-24 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Esther Zeitak, local chapter presi-
dent, Joseph Yanich, treasurer,
Arnal Colvin, corresponding secre-
tary, and Adeline Subar were offi-
cial representatives at this con-
vention which was the first na-
tional gathering of this federa-
tion since its formation at a Chi-
cago conference in December,
1945. Other members of the Wayne
chapter who attended the con-
ference as guests were Herman
Katz, recording secretary, Naomi
Beitner, Roslyn Hurwitz, Merrill
Polansky, Rachel Rosenstein, and
Bernard Schiff, and Aaron Katz-
man.
Among the highlights of the Con-
vention was an address by Rab-
bi Abba Hillel Silver, president of
the Zionist Organization of Amer-
ica and co-chairman of the Zion-
ist Emergency Council.

• Yeshivath Beth Yehudah an-
nounces the appointment of Rabbi
SOlomon H. Gruskin as Executive
Director of the school.
Rabbi Gruskin previous to com-
ing to Detroit held the position of
Executive Director of Yeshivah
Zichron Moshe and Beth Jacob
School of West Bronx.
Rabbi Gruskin will have charge
of Public Relations in the Ye-
shivah and will contact individ-
uals and groups, synagogues and
organizations, acquainting them
with the work of the institution.

Philoinathic Club

Raymond Zweig has been elec-
ted speaker of Philomathic De-
bating Club for the term begin-
ning in September. He succeeds
Maynard Gordon.
Other officers for the fall term
include Jack Alspector, clerk;
Jack Driker, assistant clerk; Sey-
mour Ralmi, sergeant-at-arms,
and Jerry Brown and Harold
Fine, directors.
