Back in 1922 Adaline Dosie was
asked to help out at the Chron-
icle when a girl left. This week,
24 years later, Mrs. Dosie ended
her "temporary" stay on the pa-
per.
A native of Pittsburgh, Adal-
ine interrupted her elongated stay
with the Chronicle in 1930 when
she was married. She returned to
her desk in 1940 and worked until
this week.

urated at an impressive ceremony
held recently at the Hotel De-
troiter.
A representative of the Michigan
State Department of the AMVETS
swore in the post, named in honor
of the late Ensign Milton Gurvis.
A letter of commendation from
the Secretary of Navy to Mr. Ben-
jamin Gurvis, father of the naval
hero, was read after which Mr.
Gurvis was awarded a life hon-
orary membership to the organi-
zation.
