By Frank Beckman

There is no discounting the fact
that 20-year-old Marian Kopnick
is versatile. In addition to major-
ing in speech correction at Wayne,
she teaches dancing at the Capi-
tal Studios after school and reads
Voltaire as a hobby. That seems to
be running the gamut from one
extreme to the other.
Marian is vice-president of tht.
newly - formed Hillel Student
Council and a
member of the
Sigma Theta
Delta Sorority.
In spite of this
jam - packed
schedule of ac-
ademic and ex-
tra - curricular
activities. Miss

Frank Beckman maintains a
popularity with
the Jewls11 set az Wayne that is
hard to match.
Graduating from Central High
School in 1944, Marian had al-
ready decided upon a school
teaching career. Her dancing in-
structions to children at the Cap-
ital Studios only added impetus
to her desires for the pedagogic
field.
With graduation time still two
years off, this daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Morris Kopnick, 2014
W. Euclid Ave., will be gathering
many more collegiate laurels be-
fore she receives her sheepskin.
When she does leave Wayne for
U. of Michigan and her Master'F,
Degree, she will take witho her
a sparkling personality that is
synonymous with the name --
Miss Marian Kopnick.

VETERANS .. .
Ben Weinberg was an all-city
tennis player at Central High
School in 1942. He was a little
guy with a terrific serve, so good
in fact, that he teamed with Bob
Hennessey to win the city tennis
doubles title. Then he went off
to war.
Serving as an Aviation Cadet
physical education instructor at
Randolph Field, Texas, this 20-
year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J.
Weinberg, of 2697 Cortland Ave.,
found his athletic prowess had
not worn off. He was still able to
put "the big fellows" through tir-
ing calisthenics.
Upon receiving his discharge in
October, Ben enrolled as a Liber-
al Arts Freshman at Wayne in
time to notch a berth on the
Tartar basketball squad. With
spring just around the corner,
Weinberg will soon be getting
out his racquet for a trial on the
Wayne tennis team.
He has indicated that he plans
enrolling at the University of
Michigan next fall and, when he
does, Wayne's loss will be the
Wolverines' gain.

NORMAN MOSKOVITCII . .
Over four of Norman Mosko-
'itch's 23 years were spent in
Uncle Sam's Army. Less than a
year after Pearl Harbor he was
storming the beaches of North
Africa and three months later
he was lying in a hospital recup
crating from wounds sustained

in a German dive-bombing at-
tack at Kasserine Pass. Things
moved fast for this slender, ex-
radio operator.
Completely recovered from the
Kasserine debacle, Norm found
himself with the invading forces
in Sicily. Dug in with the besieg-
ing troops around Cassino, Italy,
this son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Moskovitch, 12041 Dexter Blvd.,
began to wonder if these count-

would ever end. Finally they did
Now attending Wayne as an
electrical engineering freshman,
Norm is coordinating his Army
experience with his academic
training for future work in the
engineering field. He is an active
member of the American Veter-
ans Committee (AVC) and de-
serves a great deal of the credit
for the recent membership cam-
paign that added many to the
organization's folds.

IIILLEL NOTES .. .
Over 300 persons dropped in on
the Hillel open house March 20
for a glimpse of the Chapter's
new home on Second Blvd. They
all walked away with enthusias-
tic impressions. A movie night
held Thursday was only one of
the many activities that will fol-
low, now that the welcome mat
has been laid.

PERTINENT POINTS .. .

fraternity, is leading the Wayne
inter-frat basketball league with
:ix wins in as many starts. . .
Al Lindenbaum was chairman of
the first veteran social affair
