Touching Surprise Party Honors
Rose Greenspon on 77th Birthday

Report on Work
Of Bnai Moshe

Mrs. Rose Greenspon's 77th
birthday on March 17 found some
32 children, grandchildren, and
great grandchildren gathered at
Zack's Kosher Catering Co., for
a carefully-planned surprise party.
Mr. David Greenspon, oldest
son, acted as master of ceremonies
for Aaron Greenspon Family Club,
organized in the memory of his
late father. The party saw every-
one present, from youngest to
oldest, pouring blessings upon the
honored Mrs. Greenspon.
Among those at the party were
Mr. and Mrs. David Greenspon;
Mr. and Mrs. Max Lebow and
daughter, Benita; Mr. and Mrs.
Leonard Levine and son, Howard;
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rouman and
son, Jack; Mr. and Mrs. Max
Hoffman and children, Josephine,
Larry, and Aaron; Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Greenspon and daughter,
Muriel.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Abrams
and children, Marian, Celia, and
Sidney; Mrs. Helen Marder; Mr..
Morris Greenspon; Mr. and Mrs.

Tram to Review
"One Destiny"

At the annual meeting of the
Sisterhood of Congregation Bnai
Moshe held on Mar. 11, reports
were rendered by chairmen of
committees.
The concluding report was made
by the president, Mrs. I. E. Good-
man, embodying a resume of all
of the activities and an acknowl-
edgment to all of the officers and
committee chairmen for their co-
operation during her regime. A
presentation of a pair of silver
candelabra was made by the
group, commemorating the mem-
ory of the late Mrs. Ethel Good-
man, who was a devout member
and an ardent worker for the
Sisterhood.

Mrs. Rachel Sulkes Ettinger,
former Detroiter, will address the
Business and Professional Division
of Hadassah on Tuesday evening,
March 26 at the home of Mrs.
Samuel Heyman, 4031 Glendale
Avenue.
Living in Palestine for the past
12 years, Mrs. Ettinger will re-
port on her experiences.

Rabbi Leon Fram will review
"One Destiny" at the Wednesday,
March 27 meeting of the Young
Women's Bicur Cholem Club to
be held at the home of Mrs. Louis
Le Fond, of 18310 Cherrylawn.
The last session of the group took — i
place on March 18 at the home orleri
Mrs. Sam Stulberg, of 12345
Broadstreet.

• Friday evening, March 29 has
been designated as ''Council Sab-
bath" by the Detroit Section cf
the National Council of Jewish
Women. Through the cooperation
of Temple Beth El, the regular
Sabbath Eve service at the Tem-
ple will be planned by Rabbi
Glazier in conjunction with the
Contemporary
Jewish
Affairs
Committee of the Council:
Mrs. Hershel Kreger, president
of the Detroit Section, will repre-
sent the Council as speaker dur-
ing the service. A social hour in
the Temple vestry rooms is being
planned by Mrs. H. J. Frank and
Mrs. Harry Jacobson, working
with the regular Temple Social
Hour Committee.

Adds Chairmen

Ira G. Kaufman, president of
the Northwest Hebrew Congre-
gation and Center, at the Board
meeting held at the home of Chas.
Charlip, treasurer, on March 11,
made public the appointment of
Mr. Morris Sukenie to the chair-
manship of the committee in
charge of memorials to be placed
in the Synagogue and classrooms
of the building now being erected
by the Congregation. He also an-
nounced the appointment of Mr.
Joe Gordon as co-chairman of
the committee. Announcement was
also made of the appointment of
Alfred Helfgott as co-chairman of
the Membership Committee.

Despite her 77 years, Mrs. Rose
Greenspon is still active In sev-
eral organizations including the
following: Bnai Moshe Sisterhood.
Ladies Aid Society, Bnai Brith
Pisgah Lodge, Dexter Mothers
Club, Yeshivath Beth Ychudah,
Bicur Cholem, Old Folks Home,
Mt. Sinai Hospital, and Oneg
Shabbat Club.
Election of officers to the Fa-
mily Club will take place at the
neat meeting to be held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Max Hoff-
man, of 2418 Cortland Ave.

Weil Named to
National Council

The Victory Banquet that the
Mlawer Ungegend Verein is spon-
soring on Sunday, March 24, at
6:30 p.m. at Riviera Hall, 5028 Joy
Road, will not only mark the 12th
Anniversary of the Verein's exist-
ence, but will also be a celebra-
tion of the return of the sons and
daughters of the members from
the service.
Rabbi Joshua S. Sperica will be
the principal speaker. There will
also be musical selections by well
known singers.
