Everybody In Town Says,

Really memories when I ran in-
to Mrs. Chas. Solomon (Annette
Goodman). . .She was part of a
line of girls trained by Charlie
Roth of Roth & Berdan Dancing
School... Some of the others were
Nola Weiss (now Mrs. Marvin
Goldman) , , Sylvia Cole (Mrs.
Monty Freedman) . Jack Her-
ferd's wife (Fox Theatre) , . the
now Mrs. Jim Hughey and Lillian
Gross -- the only one of the crew
that's still free, white and 21?
(Not too far off.) .. Annette look-
ed darling. I did want to stand
around and talk to her a while
longer but I had a "sick friend"
who needed attention.

The March Calendar for Purity

ity Luncheon in Kern's Auditori-
um — proceeds to go to the Save-
a-Child Program. . . The next
regular business meeting will be
held April 1, at 8 p.m... Not bad,
not bad at all. Fact is, it sounds
interesting!

Do you know about the All-

a birthday, anniversary, convales-
cent, or what have you. . , They
are both beautifully as well as
practically prepared. . . Why not

Aristocrats:' Important people?
Phooey! Give me the "hamishe"
every-day person anytime ...nd
a double phooey on the "6 Mile
Road rich-tocrat" (the mails won't
permit the proper word) who
phoned a lady of Pisgah early
one Sunday morning - "I'ni sorry
I couldn't bring the clodding
promised you during the week. I
vas busy wid my 'gin club'. .. l'in
so tired, I kent go out dis morn-
ing eder and I've got a card
poddy here dis afternoon, couldn't
you come and pick it up your-
self?" . . The Pisgah lady who t;,
chairman of the clothing drive had
been doing just that all week. She
too was tired and she too would
have liked to get a couple of hours
rest Sunday morning. .. But not-
withstanding, she went. . . She
was met at the door, told to go
down into the basement ('cause
"Mrs. 6-Mile" didn't want to get
her hands dirty — if ya please)
and get the couple of bushels full
of "shmotes." Can't some of you
women understand that when
those who go "shnorren" for food
and clothing and moneys — it is
not for themselves, God forbid,
but for YOUR PEOPLE in Eu-
rope — In those stricken countries
that are glad to receive what you

deem it a privilege and a pleasure

Many happy returns, Eve, .
That's for Eve Jackson's (at Turkel)
birthday. She's been married thir-
teen years (another lucky sign).
Says her best birthday present is
the return of hgr very modest and
muchly decorated husband, Joe.
The Jackson romance started in
Northern Hi School Days. During
hubby's activities in the ETO, Eve
got herself a job at Turk's where
she was continually watched and
protected from wolves by one' -a-
more of her six handsome bro-
thers. . Not only did working
keep little Eve out of mischief
but it added to the nest eg:
which spelled business and future
security for the Jacksons. Good.
hick, kids, both of you. And may
you pile on those years of birth-
days and anniversaries.

as the doctor and Esther stood by
their "guns" until the finish, so
did "Old Glory" stand by until
they opened the office doors again,
a little dustier than before, but
just as erect and proud as al-
ways. Good luck!

of others are hers. . . Nice going,
