I have always missed that Jewish education, always felt something was lacking. For this reason, I am willing to help financially and otherwise, to the best of my ability to see that others who want it should be enabled to have it. I am appealing to you to do the same. Someone told me a story about Edward G. Robinson, the movie star, who was traveling through Chicago on the occasion of his Yahrzeit. He stopped at a downtown syna- gogue and led the services in a manner that made everyone proud. People who arc proud that a movie star should do this ought to help make it possible for others to do the same. The Jewish Education of these children in Beth Yehuda will serve as a safeguard for Judaism. Because they will enrich Judaism, I will be able to remain a Jew. All you readers will be able to remain Jews. The emphasis at Beth Yehuda is upon training young- sters to be intelligent and well informed Jewish laymen. The Yeshiva also provides the source from which students can go on to higher branches of Jewish learning. The Yeshiva is Detroit's citadel of spiritual strength. We must guard it so that it may remain strong. Everybody is welcome to visit the Yeshivath Beth Yehuda on Cortland at Dexter and see what is going on there, sec beautiful pictures in life like the ones on this page. As one who is eager to see Jewish education and culture, real education and culture, flourish in this city, as one who will take satisfaction in the knowledge that his efforts make it possible to raise hundreds of Jewish children as standard bearers in the years to come, I invite you, I urge you, to send your donation to the Yeshiva. Make checks payable or bring your donation to Yeshivath Beth Yehuda. Cortland at Dexter, Detroit 6, Michigan. Sincerely, DAVID GOLDBERG " 44 ,f„:: Seventeen
