Miss T. Carol Keller, daughter

ton Ave. and Miss Dorothy Bello,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris
Bello of Tyler Ave., returned by
plane Sunday,. after a three-week
visit in New York City. They
stayed. at. the Hotel St. George.

Mrs. Irving Barry who, with her
two sons, had been visiting her
brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and
Mrs. Phil Freedmen, of Grand
Ave., left for her home in Mon-
treal on Thursday, During her
stay in Detroit she was widely
entertained by friends and rela-
tives, including Mrs. Rose Ber-
kowitz, Mrs. Esther Freedman,
Mrs. Sarah Seedman, Mrs. Ruth
Kaufman and Mrs. Esther Fin-
kelstein.

In honor of Miss Arlene Kar-
bal upon her forthcoming mar-
riage to Morton Mehler, a mis-
cellaneous shower was given by
Mrs. Jos. Kirman, Mrs. Win.
Krochmal, Mrs. Louis Corman
and Mrs. Abe Corman on Jan. 16
at the Lee Plaza Hotel. A per-
sonal shower was given by Mrs.
Al Fineman and Miss Gladys Cal-
low on Jan. 18 at the home of
Mrs. Mth. ris Weinger on %Leslie
Ave. A miscellaneous shower was
given by Mrs. Adolph Mehler and
Miss Ruth Mohler on Jan. 22 at
Huyler's. A kitchen shower was
given by Miss Ida Karbal and
Mrs. Phillip Forman on Jan. 24
at the Book Casino. A miscel-
laneous shower was given by Mrs.
Joshua Karbal, Mrs. Wm. Karbal,
Mrs. Joseph Karbal and Mrs. 'Sy
Karbal on Jan. 30 at the Book-
Cadillac Hotel.

MISS LEAH HOPE DAVIDSON

Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Davidson, of LaSalle Blvd., announce the en-
gagement of their daughter, Leah Hope, to Ernest L. Jay, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Jay I. Jay, of Euclid Ave. No date has been set for the
wedding.

To recuperate after a long and
severe illness, Dr. Leo M. Frank-
lin, accompanied by Mrs. Frank-
lin, left on Feb. 12 for Palm
Beach, Fla., where for several
weeks they will be guests at the
Palm Beach Plaza Hotel.

Mr. and Mrs. Irving L. Kram-
er and daughter, Susan, have re-
cently returned from El Paso,
Texas, and are temporarily re-
siding with Mrs. Kramer's par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Auben Simon,
of Glynn Court.

Recent guests at the Stetler
Motel were Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Rosenstein, of South Bend, Ind.,
visiting the latter's mother, Mrs.
L. Siegel, before leaving for Mi-
ami Beach, Fla.

Mrs. Isadore Kolodney and
daughter, Reva, of Sturtevant
Ave., are spending the week-end
at the Stevens Hotel in Chicago.
After returning from this short
trip, Miss Kolodney plans to at-
tend the University of Michigan.

Lt. and Mrs. Jack Schlesinger
are making their home at 18292
Littlefield, following the former's
discharge from the army.

Lt. (j.g.) Harry Stoler, of the
USNR Dental Corps, was home
on furlough recently from the
Great Lakes Naval Base in Chi-
cago. He was entertained by sev-
eral members of the family be-
fore his departure for Pearl Har-
bor. Lt. Stoler is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Stoler, of 3777
Boston Blvd.

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Kraemer
and children, of Kraemer Olympia
Hotel, have returned from a 4
months vacation at the Lidea Ho-
tel, Miami Beach, Fla. Their son,
Sidney, joined them for 3 weeks,
after receiving his discharge from
the army. He was in service over
4 years, 14 months overseas.
