Northwest Sisterhood
Hears Rabbi Aron
Rabbi Milton Aron, recently ap-
pointed director of the new
lel Foundation at Wayne Uni-
versity, was the guest speaker
at the regular meeting of the
Sisterhood of the Northwest He-
brew Congregation and Center,
held Wednesday evening, Feb. 6,
at the home of Mrs. Allan Wal-
ler, 18695 Wildemere Ave, His
topic waa "Jewish Youth of To-
day."
A recent Palestinian movie in
technicolor, entitled "A Pass to
Tomorrow," with Frederic March
as narrator, was also shown.
Mrs. Lou Berman was present-
ed with a leather overnight case
for sellirig the most tickets in
connection with the Games Party
given by the Sisterhood on Sat-
urday evening, Jan. 26, at the
Fort Wayne Hotel. Mrs. Malcolm
Rivkin, runner-up in the sale of
tickets, was presented with a
leather billfold.
Mrs. Manny Lax was appointed
chairman of the forthcoming Pu-
rim Party.
Mrs, Samuel Bishop, council
delegate, reported on the problem
of "National Budgeting" and a
vote was taken on same.
Mrs. Doris Markle reported on
the progress the children of the
Sunday School are making with
their Purim Program and thank-
ed the mothers present for their
fine cooperation.
Hostesses for the evening as-
sisting Mrs. Waller, were Mes-
dames J. Gordon, S. Manheimer,
H. Storchan and Mitchelle Tchor.
A meeting of the Board was
held at the home of Mrs. Max
Goldsmith, president, on Wednes-
day evening, Feb, 13, at which
time plans (or the Purim Cele- ,
bration were made.
School Auxiliary Gives
Dramatic Presentation
On Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 1
p.m., the Woman's Auxiliary of
the United Hebrew Schools will
present a dramatic presentation
entitled, "A Romantic Figure Out
of a Romantic Age," dealing with
the life of Rebecca Graetz, at the
Rose Sittig Cohen Building.
Mesdames Charles S. Lapides,
Charles Moss, Sam J. Cohl, Jo-
seph Jackler, Bert Smokier, A.
Katzman and Rubin Young are
participating In the presentation.
The Woman's Auxiliary acted as
hostesses for the Oneg Shabbat
of the American Association for
Jewish Education which met In
Detroit recently.
Mrs. Harry Kraft, chairman of
the extension courses sponsored
by the Woman's Auxiliary, has
announced the opening of a class
In elementary Hebrew which will
be conducted by it member of the
staff of the United Hebrew

Sheruth League to
Sponsor Theater Party
Plans for the forthcoming the-
liter party to be held Home time
In March were discussed by mem-
bers of the Sheruth League at
their Feb. 6 meeting in the home
of Mrs. G. Sucher, 17345 Ken-
tucky Ave. Proceeds from this
affair will go to the Child Foster
Plan, sponsored by the American
Jewish Congress. Mrs. H. Berman
and Mrs. H. Rubin are crpellair •
