Miss Sharon Mendell, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Mendell, be-
came the bride of William Ketai,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Ketai, in
.1 candlelight ceremony at the Fort
'iVityne Hotel, Jan. 20.
For the ceremony, the bride
wore a satin dress with a lace
yoke and long train. Her bible was
bedecked with white orchids. Mrs.
Shirley Salk, sister of the groom,
was matron of honor wearing a
crepe gown of blue-gray, trimmed
with pink and blue beads, while
Judy Mendell, sister of the bride,
acted as maid of honor, dressed in
an emerald green satin gown with
short sleeves and heart neck. Har-
old Lowe, of Chicago, was best
man.
The newly-weds are spending
their honeymoon in Dallas, Texas.
They plan to make their home at
the St. Clair Hotel, Chicago.

Sisterhood Drive Ends Golden Wedding Affair
With Feb. 11 Luncheon Engagement Highlights

It was decided to contribute a
substantial sum to provide food
packages for 2000 displaced Jets s
in Germany, the members to send
the food to the camp directly
themselves.
Mrs. Jesse Rosen, Chairman, an-
nounced that all plans for the
Victory Luncheon, to be held
Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Latin
Quarter are completed. The Latin
Quarter are putting on a complete
floor show. Proceeds of this event
go to help the organization's local
work as well as rehabilitation
work abroad.

Mr. and Mrs. Leo J. Zuckerman,
of 18090 Cherrylawn, will celebrate
their golden wedding anniversary,
Feb. 17, with an open house recep-
tion at the Book-Cadillac Hotel.
Mr. Zuckerman is an old-time
Detroiter. He was engaged in the
ladies' ready-to-wear business that
was once located where Russeks
now stands. He retired from that
business in 1921. He is now inter-
ested in the LaSalle Wine and
Champagne Co.
The Zuckermans have two chil-
dren, Mrs. Sidney Allen and Mr.
Elmer Zuckerman. Two grandchil-
dren are Lt. Jas. I. Zuckerman
now in Luzon, and Jay Warren
Allen. There will be no cards. The
reception will be followed by a
family dinner.

(Miss Pearl Kaner)

On Saturday evening, Jan. 26, at Lachar's, Miss Pearl Kaner,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Kaner of Cortland Avenue, was
united in marriage to Robert Weinstein, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris
Weinstein of Tyler Avenue.
The Rabbis who officiated were Rabbi Rabinowitz, Rabbi S. Taub,
the Modzitzer Rabbi, Rabbi Strauss and Rabbi Rothenberg.
The bridal party consisted of Mr. and Mrs. Nate Butrimovitz,
Mr. and Mrs. S. Roth, Jeannette Engel and Sam Kaner, Ruth Kaner
and Tom Rosender, followed by the two flower girls, Judy Sukenic
and Caroline Roth.
The ceremony was followed by dinner and reception, after which
the couple left for a few weeks honeymoon in New York.
