tion of Mr. Samuel Kaplan.

Leonard N. Simons, of Simons-

of Detroit Interracial Committee
by George Schermer, director of

Youth Educat'n League
Holds Successful Rally

The regular Jan. meeting of the
Youth Education League was held
at the Detroit-Leland Hotel in the
form of a Dessert Luncheon and
Rally In anticipation of the Vic-
tory Luncheon which is going to
be held on Feb. 19, at the Latin-
Quarter, proceeds for child re-
habilitation, both here and abroad.
The enthusiastic audience was
entertained by Rosina LaKritz, so-
prano of the Civic Opera; Helene
Prag, popular blues singer; Mari-
lyn Gelb, child star; Ralph Phil-
brook, marionette artist, and a
piano solo by Mrs. Jesse Rosen.

Rev. Henry Hitt Crane will ad-
dress the monthly Friday evening
get-together in the main audi-
torium of the synagogue on Fri-
day, Jan. 18. His topic will be
"Atomic Age Adventures" and
will be followed by discussion.
Mrs. Morris Adler will also
speak, and musical entertainment
will be offered by Mrs. David D.
Kellman. Refreshments will be

tained the rank of a commis-
sioned officer, coming up to his
position after having been an en-
listed man.

Klein is a graduate of the Ohio
State University and of Western
R e s e r v e University, Cleveland,
where he completed graduate
work in Social Administration.
For eight years he was with the
Division of Relief of the Cleve-
land Welfare Department, latterly
as a District Supervisor. While
with the Division of Relief he was
also closely associated with the
Federal Works Programs, serving
as Cuyahoga County Selecting
Agent for the CCC Camps and in
charge of certifications to WPA
and NYA employment.
