With Sally Fields

And talk about all the old
friends I ran into -- Mae Mercur
ishe who is Mrs. Joseph Neuman
- biz hundred and tzwanzig yahr")
. did she look adorable, and not
/ a day older looking than in the
old Kadimah days. .. Ann Brown
(Mrs. Ben) more glamorous than
ever before. .. Sally Karbel (Mrs.
Joshua) all bedecked and bedorned
and, oh, so bewitchingly gay look-
ing. . . Sara Waterston( (Mrs.
Mickey) beaming, happy, just
bubbling over with the good news
that Alvin, aviation cadet, is back
home. Mickey took him to Camp
Custer and brought him back from
Dayton. . . Remember, Mickey is
a World War I vet and that was
the war romance of the era .. and
there were so many, many, old
friends there. . . Zedakah can sure
be proud of her guests and mem-
bers, all lovely, charming, viva-
cious ladies.

Shirley Dicken who, by the way,
knows all there is about merchan-
Gising, is another comely young
miss. We had loads of fun criticiz-
ing and admiring the clothes and
models in the Sax-Kay fashion
show at the Zedakah Donor at
the Book.

The steady, persistent "stay-in-
there-and-pitch" attitude of De-
troit gallants, retail store mer-
chants and personnel, organiza-
tions of all denominations, as
the final Victory Bond Drive
draws to a close (you knew, of
course, the drive was extended
until the end of the year )
is sweeping steadily towards its
goal. Help make this a real holi-
day for someone. Help by buying
just one more bond.

No wonder traffic out Mt. Clem-
ens way is gettin' thicker - 'n' thick-
er. It's to Gordon's Bar and Grill
they're all "agoing." Steak s,
chops, sea food, drinks — as they
should be served. It's worth the
try. Especially if your best gal is
along to hold your hand while
you're driving. Only don't go out
when it's foggy.

Add to the civvies dept. .. Lt.

family celebrating!

Remember Irving Lewis, the hot
trumpeter who played 'round
town? "Local boy makes good."
Just like out of the story books.

Exotic Yvonne Armon, director
of the comely line of dancers that
round out the ever-increasingly
popular showt
at Lee 'n' Ed-
die's Supper
Club, creates the
dance routines
and designs the
lovely costumes
that are worn.
Lee 'n' Eddie's
continues in the
limelight with
another winning,
dance and floor
show combina-
tion. The musi-
Yvonne Armors cal stars are
Jack Teagar-
den, the chap with the mean,
moanin' trombone, and his orches-
tra with vocalists Rickey Reese
and Henry Fields, while the show
has such eminent personalities as
Jackie Green, Manhattan's favor-
ite comedy star; the Five Maxel-
los, sensational acrobats and tum-
blers, featured in Paramount's
"Incendiary Blonde," and The
D'Ivons in "Designs in Dancing:'
The Yvonne Armon Dancers are
conspicuous for their unusual en-
semble routines. Both the Teagar-
den band and show remain over
for a second week, by popular de-
mand, starting Friday, December
14. Zero Mostel, the New York

comedy hit, will be the star of the
new show, opening Friday, Decem-
ber 21. Bobby Byrne and his or-
chestra will do the music.
