Alumni Raise Funds
For Weil Memorial

To honor the memory of the
late Maj. Max Weil, one of the
outstanding heroes of the valiant
defense of the Philippines in the
early days of the war, the Wayne
University Campus Club Alumni
are establishing a memorial
scholarship to be awarded annu-
ally to a deserving and outstand-
ing high school graudate in the
Detroit metropolitan area.
Major Weil was commissioned
in 1940 and was ordered to Manila
In 1941. He went into action with
the American forces on Dec. 7,
fighting with such distinction that
he was awarded the Purple Heart
and the Silver Star for gallantry
in action.
Contributions should be mailed
to the Major Max Weil Scholar-
ship Fund, Room 205, Wayne
University.
