"Yes," he went on, "you'll all go away on my rocket and leave
the world without any Jews. we'll take along Einstein and the 12

Mereased by the election 01 my friends Rain and Chain.
"We'll take along all your social philosophers, all your talents
ad skills, your spiritual leauers, your business executives. They'il
ail go to the moon and start a world all over again. You'll go and
Lave to this world only the teacnIngs of your prophets, sages anti

nit will be comic revenge ior everything the Jews have been
made to surfer on the earth. You just walk out."
As a mend or all mankind as well as of the Jews he had
come to the idea reluctantly. tie knew what it would mean to cut
out of tne social body so important and healthy a part of its organ-
;sm; so much that is taiented and competent. But then, ne said,
the social body has been hostiie to the Jews and
it shouldn't !eel
too onended it the Jews walked out on it and moved
to tne moon.
As a friend of man, he could see it might all
eventually
turn
Jut for the good of the

earth. lie envisaged the Jews developing on
ideal society on tne moon • • . society organized in accordance
with your prophetic ideals, a society without
nate, except for tnose
private nates tnat one man may nave against another individual,
out no mass hating. Even in the best et societies we must allow

for private hating."
tie suggested that later the Jews, in a gesture of forgiveness,
could send missionaries down to the earth, or at least oombaru

the eartn wan pamphlets explaining how much easier it is to get
along by mutual resptct than by throwing atomic bombs . . .
"snowtails of pamphlets tailing from the moon," he chuckled. "Tnus

the earth may yet be converted to civilization."
More tnan that: He pointed out that without any Jews upon
whom to blame its mistortunes, the world may get around to the
ham of examining its own fault .. "And that's the beginning or
wisdom and of virtue," he said.
fie had his plan all written down in a prospectus entled "A
Plan to Build a Good, New World Far irons tne Old World Whin
Seems to Be Practically Hopeless." Atter the Jews were well
established on the moon he would have them invite into their
society a number of well-disposed Gentiles . . . "It wouldn't be
biologically, socially or psycnoiogically correct for this immigration
to the moon to be entirely of one kind."
tie was organizing a committee of 100 Jews to take to the
moon to make a preliminary survey. He read off their names.
All the big shots of Israel!
"Goouness no!" I exclaimed. "They'll never get there. No
sooner does your rocket start than they'll begin to argue over
the direction to the moon. One will say it's this way and another
that way. And all you'll have will be a perpetual debate in peace
They'll never get there. Better send a committee of Jews who
don't know how to make speeches."
The gentleman thanked me and said he would think it over.

ZIONIST NEWS . . .
Harry S. Kruger, chairman of Baltimore's Shaarey Zion Congre-
gation, calls our attention to Rabbi Israel Tabak's letter on "The
Palestine Issue" published last month on the editorial page of the
Baltimore bun . . . It is the best answer yet published to Rabbi
Lazaron's_interpretation of Zionism, ... The saga of the Palestine
workers' theatre Ohel is a true epic . . This year Ohel celebrates
its twentieth anniversary . , An American tour by Ohel would do
more to help the cause of Jewish Palestine than thousands of
speeches by professional propagandists . . . "British Labor and
zionism" is a splendid, very enlightening little booklet issued by
the American Jewish Trade Union Committee for Palestine . . . In
case you're interested, the organization's address is 245 Fifth Ave.,

READER'S GUIDE . .

INTERESTING PEDIGREE . . .
Who is Mr. Aaron V. Davis, president of Temple Israel of New
Rochelle, who initiated a Foundation for the benefit of the rabbis
occupying the pulpit of that congregation? . . . We have the
dope directly from the pen of Dr. Stephen S. Wise, who writes us:
"Aaron W. Davis bears the full name of Aaron Wise Davis . . .
He is the grandson of my father and my nephew, his mother having
been my older sister . . . His father, Edward Davis, was one of
the founders and most generous supporters of the Free Synagogue
of New York . • , Mr. Davis has the name of his grandfather, Aaron
Wise" , . Thank you, Dr. Wise . .. Aaron Wise Davis bears a
proud name and is a worthy descendant of the Aaron and Stephen
Wise tradition . • .
ABOUT PEOPLE . . .
The most traveled fighter we know is Cpl, Joe Gollob .. . A
29-year-old Montreal Jew of Lithuanian descent, he toured all
European countries before the war, and accumulated decorations
for bravery on the French and Belgian battlefronts .. . Wounded
twice, he has now returned to Canada, and is opening a physical
culture school . • . Henry Morgenthau, Jr., has signed a contract
making him a radio commentator on a national hook-up . . . Dr.
Robert Goldenson, author and lecturer on psychological subjects,
who conducts the radio program, "When He Comes Home," dealing
witn the problems of returning war veterans, is the son of Dr.
Samuel Goldenson, rabbi of New York's Temple Emanu El , .
When, in "Confidential Agent," you see Peter Lyrre dying of a heart
attack, be assured that you are getting an authentic performance ...
Peter spent many hours getting detailed instructions from several
heart specialists before he played that scene.

Take any form you like. Include such items as health, happi-
ness, community affiliations, children, worldly goods and above all,
some goal for the future. Each member of the family may set down
his idea of how near that item is toward accomplishment. Such a
periodic inventory helps to give marriage a concrete basis. In your
case, you and your husband should sit down and do this together.

The Changing Pace of Marriage

Marriage moves and shifts. Having mastered the early prob-
lems, one soon finds a new set of problems with the coming of
children or their absence. All these things require mutual adjust-
ments and mutual learning. And above all, you must keep in mind
our goal.
So try this. Get together with your husband and ask him if he
ill make an effort to save your marriage. If he is willing, then sit
wn both of you and write down the things you still want from
‘ a ) t?is marriage. Each of you make a list and then make one together.
