Synagogue Conference to send
50 Holy Scrolls (Sifrei Torah),
5,000 Sidurim, 5,000 Bibles, Ta-
leism, Tfillin and other religious
articles to send in the name of
the Jewish Community of De-
troit.
The Vaad Harabonim calls
upon Synagogues, organizations
and individuals to call its office
at Ty. 6-8906, or the Michigan
Synagogue Conference, H o.
4763 to give their contributions.
A committee will be glad to call
upon any organization or indi-
vidual.

The Sisterhood

Zedek will celebrate Chanukah
with a special program at its
December 10 meeting, which
opens with a dessert luncheon at
12:30. Songs and readings ap-
propriate to the holiday will be
rendered by the well known De-
troit artists, Miss Drora Seles-
ny and Mrs. Sarah Friedman.
Members are requested to
bring to this meeting small gifts
of toiletries or suitable games
for the wounded veterans at
Percy Jones Hospital.

Hanita Club Plans
Chanukah Meeting

The Hanita Club of the Pio-
neer Women's Organization an-
nounces a Chanukah evening to
be held at the home of Mrs.
Bessie Barris, 2930 Calvert,
Mon., Dec. 3 at 8:30 p.m.
Mrs. Berris will address the
group on the "Spirit of Chan-
ukah." The program will also
consist of a welcome to all new
members.
The club is also sponsoring a
card party to be held at Per-
eira's, Mon., Dec. 10 at 8:30
p.m. All proceeds will be used
for the Child Housing Project in
Palestine.
