AMong the major problems confroriting
Palestine today is the rejntegration of demobilized
servicemen and women. The Jewish Agency for Pales-
tine, which derives its American support through the
United Palestine Appeal, is collaborating with the
War Needs and Rescue Fund in providing vocational
retraining for ex•soldiers, helping them find employ
ment in commerce and industry, and aiding in the
establishment of urieultural settlements for those
who wish to return to the land. Depicted above are

the Hallayal Co., established with U.P.A. financial aid
to offer employment to demobilized servicemen;

ex-soldiers' settlement; (right) an ex•soldier serving
as a sanitary inspector for the Tel Aviv Municipality,
which reserves all such posts for demobilized service•
men The U.P.A. is now celebrating its twentieth
anniversary as the central fund-raising instrument of
American Jewry to provide resources for the up.
building of the Jewish National Home in Palestine.
