gation Bnai Jeshurun has par-
ticipated in the great events of
the time and has shared in
every important enterprise which
has challenged the loyalty of the
Jews.
Now on the threshold of a
new era, the 120-year-old Con-
gregation is rededicating itse.f

jectives. These are the civic bet-
terment of the community, the
strengthening of American Is-
rael, the building of a Jewish
State in Palestine, and unity
among all races and creeds.

he was born. His entire family,
father, mother and three sisters,
were deported from Paris in Ju-
ly 1942, when the Nazis began
their, campaigns against French
Jews. The mother was pregnant
when the fateful moment came,
and some months later, she gave
birth to Michel —, in a concen-
tration camp somewhere in Ger-
many. The family was then
transferred to the notorious Os-
wiecim camp, where they sur-
vived intact for over a year.
