lum and poured down their con-
tempt on him.
Now for the first time in the
modern history of the U. S. pre..s
some newspapers have taken up
with the hoodlum. Anti-Jewish
slander is found in American
newspapers, like type picked up
from a Goebbels print shop. Spir-
itual heirs of Goebbels in the
United States were taking up
where he left off.
The O'Donnell column in the
N. Y. Daily News and other pa-
pers had to do with the matter
i of Gen. Patton being relieved of
his governmental duties in Ba-
varia. According to official re-
ports Gen. Eisenhower relieved
Patton of his duties because he
wasn't satisfied with the way
Patton handled the Nazis; but,
according to the O'Donnell col-
umn, it was all due to the pres-
sure of Jews. It named some
Jews including Morgenthau.
According to O'Donnell these
Jews had been angry with Pat-
,
.ton ever since the time he slap-
C
.7ped that American soldier in It-
aly. O'Donnell said the soldier
was a Jew and for that reason
these prominent people felt re-
sentful against Patton and finally
got him.
It turned out that the slapped
soldier wasn't a Jew but a Prot-
estant of German descent. O'-
Donnell acknowledged he had
given out an untruth and said he
regretted it. The N. Y. Daily
News itself didn't seem to be
f.-= )sorry. Rather it spoke piously of

VILLAGERS RELUCTANT

It is reported reliably that Ab-
dulla Khalil el Sheikh at first
was not too anxious to assume
that task. But finally he was con-
vinced, and he is now organizing
and training Arabs with modern
weapons. Five weeks ago a dep-
uty inspector of the Palestine
police visited Kolonia, which is
near Motza, a Jewish commun-
ity not far from Jerusalem, and
gathering all the Arab villagers
together, he told them that, ac-
cording to trustworthy informa-
tion, the Jews were preparing to
attack the Arabs. He advised the
Arabs to arm and not to await
an attack but to go after the
Jews themselves. The deputy in-
spector indicated that all the ne
cessary arms were available. The
villagers ,however, did not stir,
refusing to take the insepctor
seriously.

The Jewish underground radio,
in discussing similar incidents
and tactics, charges that the Pal-
estine Government is trying to
arrange outrages and attacks,
with Arabs set against Jews, and
Jews against Arabs, so that when
the "two peoples of Palestine
fight, the British will enter the
fray and prevail over both sides,
punish both sides and appear to
be playing the role of impartial
judge."
