Research Being Made
Of Nazi Literature

The role of German scholar-
ship and science in the Nazi ex-
tinction program of the Jews is
being studied by the Yiddish Sci-
entific Institute - Yivo, 535 West
123rd St., New York 27, N. Y.
The completed work will be pre-
sented to the War Crimes Com-
mission as evidence in the trials
to be held shortly in Nuremberg.

Jewish Women European Welfare
Organization in her home on
Oakman Blvd., on Oct. 9, to com-
memorate the organizing of the
annual showers for the orphan
girls of the General Israel Home
in Palestine.

The shower was a success and
2000 pieces of wearing apparel
are now on the way to Palestine
through Hadassah in New York.
Preceding the meeting, a lun-
cheon was held and Mrs. E.
Weissman presided at the meet-
ing. The Victory installation lun-
cheon was held at the Book Cad-
illac Hotel on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
Mr. Ed Schwartz was chairman
and Mrs. A. Solomon, co-chair-

At Jewish Center

Invitations are being sent to
members of all Hadassah senior
groups, comprising the Detroit
Chapter, to attend a series of
four Town Hall meetings under
the auspices of its educational
committee, headed by Mrs. Morris
Adler, chairman, and Mrs. M. A.
Wayne, co-chairman.
Mrs. Adler will lecure on time-
ly phases of Zionism from 10:30
to 12 noon, each Thursday morn-
ing in November, excepting
Thanksgiving, at the Jewish Com-
munity Center.
Her first subject will be "A
Short History of Zionism," on
Nov. 1. The remaining three lec-
tures will be given on Nov. 8,
15 and 29, and in each case there
will be a period for questions and
discussion.
No fee will be charged and
the public is welcome.
