also attended the conference as
delegates.
Dr. Goldmann declared:
"The United Nations should
exempt Jews who are, or were,
nationals of former Axis coun-
tries from all discriminatory or
confiscatory measures to which
nationals of these countries are
or will be subjected. Stateless
Jews of such origin must not be
required to'revert to their former
nationality, unless they expressly
so desire."
Dr. Goldmann said while the
action of the War Crimes Com-
mission was gratifying, the war
criminals should also be charged
with conspiracy against the Jew-
ish people. Ile also asked that the
Jewish people be permitted to
have representatives at the trials
and that they be used for con-
sultation and as witnesses.
Dr. Tartakower said that con-
siderable influence had to be ex-
erted in order to prevent I:N.
RRA from passing a resolution
which would have deprived pi r.
sons who refuse to be repatriat,
from financial relief. Fortunately,
he added, the UNRRA conferencv
was held in London at the same
time as the World Jewish Con-
gress which made it possibl e to
influence its decision.

MOSCOW (WNS)—The State

Germans destroyed 532 syna-

The report is filled with details
of German atrocities against in-

closes hundreds of instances in
which Jews were slain after the
Germans persuaded them to part
with their belongings under a
promise that they would be spar-

"Just before the war Mary and I moved into a new
home equipped with an all - electric kitchen. Mary's
whole attitude about kitchens changed immediately.
She used to be impatient with the way a kitchen ties
a woman to the home. Now she's very happy with her
homemaking tasks. Her electric range gives such uni-
form results that failures and disappointments are a
rarity, and the automatic features make cooking much
easier. Perhaps her favorite helper is the electric dish-
washer. I did a little time-study of her dishwashing
and found that the dishwasher saves her about one
working day every month. My mechanical mind i i s
fascinated by the garbage disposal unit in the sink.
My wife says it's a real convenience—this way ""e
never really have garbage. Well, I could go on a good
deal longer about the help she gets from her mixer,
even
juicer, percolator and toaster—and I guess I don't
need to mention her electric refrigerator, for every-

refrigeration that equals the modern, electric

It's not too early to be thinking about what electricity can do
for your home in the days to come. Forward-looking families
arc giving careful consideration to all the labor-saving, com-
fort-making conveniences that electricity can provide. They
have learned by experience that the old-fashioned way is the
wasteful way. They know that the magic of electricity can make
their living better, safer and happier. They are about to turn
on the electric life.
