The Unfinished

Senator Reynolds and
His Nationalist Party
By
ROSE LEVY
1952 Virginia Park
We :ward the news, we read it
too
The world is quite upset
We've lost a great American —
One we'll never forget.
It seems as though we've lost a
son
Or someone close and dear
We're glad he knew before he
died
That Peace is very near.
The way he always said "my
friends"
The way he laughed and smiled
We listened to his speeches and
His humor drove us wild.

now under indictment for sedi-
tion, and C. Sylvester Viereck,
convicted Nazi agent, to name
just a few of that ilk. A sup-
porter of Gerald Smith's violent
campaign of obstructionism in
San Francisco against the or-
ganization of a charter for the
United Nations, Reynolds sent a
telegram on May 15th to Rev.
Jonathon Perkins of San Francis-
co which said in part: "You are
fortunate in having the Honora-
ble Gerald L. K. Smith in San
Francisco at this vital crossroad
in history."
In all, there are about twenty
known solicitors now trying to
raise money on a forty percent
commission basis for Reynolds'
Nationalist party and committee.
J. Victor Malone heads this group
of professional fascist fund rais-
ers, a group that includes Joe
McWilliams. Among other cities,
they have already visited Boston,
Newark and Cleveland. In Cleve-
land, persons who inquired of the
Chamber of Commerce as to their
fund raising, were told "not to
give" by Randall M. Ruhlman,
manager of the Chamber of Com-
merce.
It can safely be expected that
Reynolds and his Nationalist Par-
ty will intensify rather than di-
minish their activities. Their cur-
rent plans call for an ending of
the war before they really begin
an "all-out" campaign. They hope
