Dr. Morgenstern 'Appreciates' Zionism;
But Opposes 'Cultural Pluralism'

INDIANAPOLIS (WNS) — Dr. Julian Morgenstern, president of
the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati and formerly one of the
leading opponents of political Zionism, has abandoned his opposi-
tion to Zionism and is now a non-Zionist with "a sympathetic under-
standing and appreciation of Zionism," according to Gabriel Cohen,
editor of the Jewish Post.
Dr. Morgenstern is quoted by 4> —

Morgenstern said, referring to
the Labor party victory in the
recent English election, "I saw no
prospect of such an actuality.
But now the commonwealth is not
so impracticable or unrealizable
as it seemed then."
