in action in France, one year
ago, August 14, 1944. He entered

service of the U. S. Army, Sep-
tember 10, 1943 and went over-
seas June, 1944. He was attached
to the 121st Infantry, 8th Divi-
sion, and was awarded the purple
heart for courageous service.
He was a graduate of North-
eastern High School and Detroit
