Mrs. Louis Glacier was re-
elected
president
of
Detroit
Chapter of Hadassah, which com-
prises all four groups of the
chapter, at the annual meeting.

Ole Henrietta Szold Foundation
drive. The Foundation proposes
to carry forward the work of the
Children's Bureau which Miss
Szold created, and to provide
scholarships to send American
boys and girls to Palestine to
see the new life which the Jew-
ish people are building there.

Program Staged
By Club Allegro

On Thursday night, May 24.
Club Allegro, an organization
composed of musically-inclined
students from Central High and
Wayne University, performed at
the Jewish Temple for a Mothers'
and Daughters' banquet. Irving
Ritter, president of the club, was
master of ceremonies. Featured
on the program were vocal, vio-
lin and piano solos, plus the
group's own arrangement of
"Meadowland". The officers of
the club besides Ritter are: Bette
Shanbrom, vice president; Shir-
ley Galt. recording secretary;
Eleanor Mandell, corresponding
secretary, and Marcia Margolis,
treasurer.
Those who took part in the
program were Harold Bernstein,
Eleanor Mandell, Margie Nadis,
Irving Ritter, Sol Ritter, Sheldon
Sandweiss, Bette Shanbrom and
Alice Stein.

The Northwest Hebrew Con-
gregation and Center is com-
pleting preparations for its first
donor dinner to be held at the
Jewish Community Center on
Sunday evening, June 17. Phillip
Helfman is chairman of the do-
nor committee. A large crowd
is expected.
Dr. Emmanuel Gamoran, one
of the foremost American-lie-
brew educators, writers and hu-
morists, will be the guest speaker.
The Sunday School of the con-
gregation held its final session
of the semester on Sunday fore-
noon, May 27 at the Bagley
School. In celebration of the suc-
cessful completion of the first
term of the new school, a recep-
tion was held for the pupils,
their parents, and the congrega-
tion.
