they have learned the bitter les-

Funds are being accumulated to
build new centers, new Syna-
gogues and Temples, new hos-
pitals. .In ninny communities the
welfare organizations have not
set any goals, because they know
that any goal they set will be
reached and they don't want to
limit the amount of funds to be
raised.
New educational institutions
are springing up. New Yeshi-
vahs, Hebrew parochial schools;
seminaries, colleges and Talmud
Torahs, Recreational institutions
are being enlarged and new ones
planned for the Jewish youth.
The Yiddish Scientific Society is
campaigning for $250,000; the
Hebrew Cultural group for the
same amount. A campaign is be-
ing conducted to raise $150,000
to publish the Black Book, a
record of Nazi crimes against
Jewry. Palestine Yeshivahs are
also not being neglected in the
drive for funds here.
Fight Anfi-Semitism
Hundreds of thousands of dol-
lars are being spent in the fight
against anti-Semitism and all its
manifestations, in campaigns for
tolerance and brotherhood; to
subsidize groups and conduct in-

vestigations.

The Jews on the face of this
record are probably the most
charitable group in the United
States. For this 200 millions
comes from, 5 million Jews. Of
these five millions, nearly 000,-
000 are serving in the armed
forces so that they can't con-
tribute and are not solicited. Be-
