Bernstein, acting foreign editor of the newspaper PM, give his views on foreign affairs. Between 35 and 40 Detroit Jewish wom- en's groups participated in this a ffair. Mr. Bernstein was optimistic about the postwar era. He was emphatic in saving that he ex- pects no ti ouble between the United States and Russia be- cause of geographical barriers and also because the United States and Russia do not com- pete either commercially or for spheres of influence. The editor also declared that Americans have been misled about Poland and that the ma- jority of Poles in Poland are against the London Polish Gov- ernment. He also declared that Russia might help the Polish. Hungarian and Yugoslavian peas- ants who have always been mis- treated. Russia feels that the border countries are her secur- ity and will not tolerate any aristocratic governments or any unfriendly regimes in the border areas. Brotherhood Week, observed by proclamation of the President nationally from Feb. 18 to 25, will be celebrated by many ac- tivities arranged by the Detroit Round Table of Catholics, Jews and Protestants. This Sunday, Feb. 18, the Rev. Joseph Q. Mayne, executive sec- retary of the Detroit Round Table, will speak before a union meeting of the young people of the St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church with the youth group of the Jewish Temple in Jackson. The film "The World We Want to Live In," prepared by the Na- tional Conference of Christians and Jews, will be shown at Kala- mazoo College Sunday evening. Mrs. Philip Gentile of Central Methodist Church, with a group of youth leaders, will present a Brotherhood program before the young people of Congregation Bnai Moshe at 2:30 p. in. Sun- day, Feb. 18. A series entitled "The Religions of a Democracy" will be presented by the Round Table to the young people's group of the Central Methodist Church, Woodward at Adams, on successive Sundays beginning Feb. 18. The first speaker in the series will be Dr. B. Benedict Glazer, rabbi of Temple Beth El.
