the Men's Club of Temple Israel
did a splendid job in taking over
the USO headquarters, Christmas
Eve.
The cast for the production
"Fun Mania" has been selected.
The chairman of the evening,
Charles Alley, has already set
dates for rehearsals. The date
for the performance will be Tues-
day, Jan. 23, at 8:30 p. m. The
Sisterhood of the Temple will be
guests of the evening. Refresh-
ments will be served after the
show by the men.
Maurice Levin, chairman of
the Father and Son party and
also chairman of the Boy Scout
Troop sponsored by the Men's
Club, announces that definite ar-
rangements have been made for
the Father and Son party to be
held in February.
Registration for the new adult
classes which will be started at
Shaarey Zedek will begin at
7.30 p. m. Jan. 8, it was an-
nounced by Simha Rubinstein,
Shaarey Zedek educational di-
rector. First classes will meet
on the evening of Jan. 16.
The classes are open to ado-
lescents over 15 years old, and
to adults. There will be courses
in elementary and advanced Heb-
rew, in Jewish history, the Bible,
current Jewish affairs, Palestin-
ian problems and Jewish tradi-
tions and customs.
The fees will be nominal $1
for members of Shaarey Zedek
and $1.50 for non-members. The
Detroit Jewish public is invited
to take advan'tage of these
courses. A faculty of qualified
and experienced teachers will
give these courses. The courses
will be in session one evening a
week.
