Wayne County.
Headed by Arthur L. Robbins,
who will serve as chief of the
Civil Division (usually known as

Counsel), the group includes
Nathan J. Kaufman, Walter Da-
vid Schirmer, and Harry B. Let-
zer.
Robbins, filling one of the im-
portant posts on the staff, is 36
years old. He is a Wayne Uni-
versity graduate, serves as treas-
urer of the Detroit Chapter of
the Lawyers' Guild and editor
of the Detroit Guild Forum. -
Kaufman graduated from the
Detroit College of Law. Ile has
recently been president of Local
142 UAW-CIO, and had some
factory experience in labor law
under the NRA.
Schirmer, a graduate of Wayne
University, is a naval veteran
of this war with a medical dis-
charge from the rank of lieu-
tenant. He has recently been
the legal advisor to the Com-

District, and also served on spe-
cial duty, attached to the Dis-
trict Judge Advocate's office of
the AAF, Technical Service
Command.
Letzer graduated from the De-
troit College of Law, has prac-
ticed since 1926, was a member
of the Prosecutor's staff for six
years, 1935-40, is 42 years old,
married and the father of one
child. He bore an excellent rec-
ord during his previous service
on the staff.

Brooklyn, New York, which was transplanted in this
country over three years ago. Prior to the present world
conflict, Rabbi Jofen was the Dean of over 70 Beth Joseph
Yeshivoth in Poland. At the present time only Navaro-
dok Beth Joseph Yeshivoth and one in Gateshead, England
(not including the great Refugee Yeshiva of Brooklyn),
remain in existence, while hundreds of Beth Joseph Schol-
ars are stranded in the many refugee countries of Europe.
The Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Brook-
lyn Yeshiva, Rabbi Hershel Stollman, is in Detroit for
over a week. He arranged appeals for the Yeshiva in most
of Detroit Jewish Congregations where he received the
utmost cooperation of the officers and members.
We
appeal to the officers and members of the Congrega-
tions where appeals have not yet been arranged, to dedicate
this Saturday to appeals for this Sacred Yeshiva. and to
announce our invitation to the M'lava Malka from the
pulpit.
