The rabbis, officers and mem-
bers of the board have issued in-
vitations to the entire member-
ship of Congregation Shaarey
Zedek to attend the special cele-
bration of the mortgage burn-
ing, to take place on Sunday
night, Dec. 17, at 8 o'clock, in
the Main Auditorium of the Con-
gregation. This event will mark
the milestone in its history when
it is again free from all indebt-
edness. It is the second time
since the year of 1862 that such
a celebration was made possible.
Dr. A. M. Hershman, Rabbi of
the Congregation, and Dr. Louis
Finkelstein, president of the Jew-
ish Theological Seminary of
'America, will be the principal
speakers. A special musical pro-
gram has been arranged by Can-
tor Jacob H. Sonenklar, who will
be accompanied by the String

The Detroit Hebrew Parochial
School Association will hold its
first affair on Chanukah, Wednes-
day, Dec. 13, at 8:30, in the
School Bldg., Linwood and Elm-
hurst. An interesting program
has been prepared. A debate,
"Why Remain a Jew," will be
given by the school pupils. They
will also speak about the import-
ance of the day. Latkes and
other refreshments will be served
by the ladies under the leader-
ship of Mrs. Servetter. Parents
and friends are asked to come
and spend an enjoyable evening

sah will hold its next meeting
