The bride wore a heavy white
crepe gown, made on princess
lines, with a white sequin em-
broidered peplum, long white
gloves edged with sequins and
a sequin calot with a circular
finger-tip veil. She carried a
white moire covered bible with
white orchids and long satin
streamers studded with baby
mums.
Mrs. d'Acosta was her daugh-
ter's attendant and wore a kelly
green gown, with a kelly green
sequin calot. She wore an orchid
corsage. Mrs. Weingarden wore
a powder blue gown and also
wore an orchid corsage. Little
Leah Vogel of Royal Oak was
her cousin's flower girl, and wore
a powder blue taffeta colonial
dress with a pink net over-skirt,
and blue taffeta bonnet. She car-
ried a colonial bouquet of pink

She wore white brocade and her
veil was made of fine Italian lace
which Sgt. Unger had sent while
on duty overseas. A dinner fol-
lowed the ceremony at the Lee
Plaza Hotel and a reception was
held in the evening.,
Sgt. Unger has just returned
from Italy where he completed
51 missions and received the
Distinguished Flying Cross, the
Presidential Citation, and Four
Oak Leaf Clusters.
Among the out-of-town rela-
tives who attended the wedding
were Mrs. E. Unger of Hartford,
Conn., Mrs. H. Sandlow of New
York City, Mrs. Benjamin Touff
of Cincinnati, Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
liam Schiff, Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Schiff, Mr. and Mrs. Saul Schiff,
and the Jule Marks, all of Co-
lumbus.
After a brief honeymoon in
Hartford and New York City,
Sgt. and Mrs. Unger will be in
Atlantic City where he will be
stationed.

Conference on Dec. 10 Beth El Speaker Dec. 11 Hold Meeting Dec. 13
The first annual conference of
the United Yiddish Folk Orgadi-
zations will be held Sunday, Dec.
10, at 2 p. m. in the Detroit
Jewish Community Center, Wood-
ward and Holbrook.
Charles Driker, president of
this organization, will give a full
report on the past year's work
and accomplishments of the or-
ganiization, and Abe Nussbaum
will report on the National Con-
ference of Yiddish Ukranian
Landsmanshaften which was held
recently in New York City and
to which he was a delegate. The
conference will take up a num-
be• of important problems of na-
tional and local significance such
as how to continue the struggle
against anti-Semitism, the rights
of Jews, and relief for the Jews
in the countries which have been
freed from Nazi terror.
At this conference a new ex-
ecutive committee will be elected,
including a president, two vice
presidents, and executive chair-
man, treasurer and executive
secretary.
The delegates and representa-
tives of all organizations are re-
quested to bring the resolutions
which were sent to their organi-
zations, regarding the Lynch Bill
in Congress.

The Sisterhood of Temple Beth
El will present as its guest speak-
er Dr. James Pollock, professor
of Political Science at the Uni-
versity of Michigan, at the meet-
ing to be held Monday, Dec. 11,
at 2 p. m. in the Brown Memo-
rial Chapel.
Dr. Pollack is known as a
historian, author, and a special-
ist in politics and government,
and is consultant to various gov-
ernmental agencies.
A dessert luncheon - will pre-
cede the meeting in the social
hall of the Temple.
Ezra to Hold Sunday

The Ezra, Women's Division
of the Federation of Polish
Jews, next Sunday night party
will be given by Mrs. A. Nichel-
son and her sister, Mrs. M. Lob-

The Federation of Polish Jews
has already sent $10,000 for
packages of food to Poland.

Go Over War Bond Quota
Jewish Women European Wel-
fare Organization will meet at
the home of Mrs. Samuel Rosen,
2262 Chicago Blvd., on Tuesday,
Dec. 12, at 12:30 o'clock. Mem-
bers are urged to attend. Re-
ports will be given on the 12th
donor luncheon held Dec. 5 at
the Bnai Moshe.
Part of the proceeds will go
to buy sheeting and wearing ap-
parel for the orphan girls of the
General Israel Home in' Pales-
tine in answer to an emergency
letter just received from the
home for supplies.
Although the Detroit Bnai
Brith Young Women subscribed
$75,000 as their quota in the 6th
War Loan, they have, up to this
report, sold over $85,000 in War
Bonds.
Martha Silverman, chairman of
war service of the Bnai Brith
Young Women, reports that the
following girls have sold the
most bonds in their respective
auxiliaries: Reva Cohen and
Sophie Schulman of Deborah,
Sylvia Cornfield of Naomi, and
Dorothy Weiss and Leone Wein-
berg of Rebecca Gratz.
The semi-annual election of
officers of the Omega Sigma Phi
sorority took place recently. The
officers elected were Marilyn
Fisher, president; Mildred Finkel-
stein, treasurer; Bernice David-
son, recording secretary; Louse
Beige!, corresponding secretary;
and Evelyn Rappaport, publicity
chairman.
The Omega Sigma Phi held a
charity card party Nov. 24 in
the home of Joyce Cantor, and
tripled the amount they had
pledged to the Community War
Fund.

neer W omen's Organization,
which took place at the home of

arrangements were made for its
annual Chanukah party for Mon-
day evening, Dec. 11, which will

iam Feldman will speak on the
significance of Chanukah, which
will be followed by community
singing of Palestinian songs. Lat-

The couple are now touring
to California on Lt. Weingarden's
leave. Mrs. Weingarden will re-
turn to Houston when Lt. Wein-
garden returns to active duty.
