Attack Plan to Settle
Jews in Madagascar

LONDON (WNS)—The Zionist
Review, official organ of the
British Zionist Federation, this
week carried an editorial de-
nouncing Sir Clifford Heathcots-
Smith, British representative on
the Intergovernmental Refugee
Committee in Italy, for his recent
statement that Madagascar would
be a more ideal place for Jewish
settlement than Palestine. The
publication recalled' that it was
Hitler who planned Madagascar
as a reservation for Jews, and
demanded that the Intergovern-
mental committee issue a state-
ment whether Sir Clifford's sug-
gestion represented its own pol-
icy.
In an editorial dealing with
the recent pro-Palestine state-
ments of President Roosevelt and
Governor Dewey, the Zionist Re-
view said that while the pro-
nouncements are a great victory

On AZA Program

The influential literal weekly
New Statesman and Nation last
week carried an editorial attack-
ing the British Government for
its "drifting policy" with regard
to Palestine. The publication as-

serted that "an ugly situation"
was brewing in Palestine and that
"those who are to decide the
policy with regard to Palestine
are too over-tired and over-pre-
occupied to come to grips with
the baffling problem." It urged
the establishment of Palestine as
a Jewish homeland "on much
more restricted lines than the
Jews desire," and er:pressed the
conviction that both the Jews
and the Arabs would accept such
a decision, although under pro-
test.

Installing Greater Detroit's 14th
and 15th Chapters of AZA will
climax a program involving all
the local members of Bnai

Kindergarten Class of
Hebrew Schools Now Open

The morning class for children
of kindergarten and pre-kinder-
garten ages at the David W.

An additional number of 10
children will be admitted to this

kindergarten work in various
Canadian educational institutions
and was engaged as a kinder-
