Center, at 1 p. m. Mrs. Douglas
I. Brown, president, extends an
invitation to all women who are
members of organizations belong-
ing to the League, to attend this
meeting. A dessert luncheon will
be served with the members of
Zedekah acting as hostesses.
Mrs. Robert Lewiston, program
chairman, has arranged an inter-
esting program for this occasion.
Mrs. David Kallman will lead the
singing of the National Anthem,
accompanied by Mrs. Jesse Ros-
en. The opening prayer will be
given by Mrs. Nathan Blatnikoff
of the Eva Prenzlauer Maternity
Group.
The guest speakers will be
Mrs. Leonard Weiner and Isaac
Franck of the Jewish Community
Council. They will discuss "What
We Women Can Contribute to
the Postwar Plans." A question
period will folow.
Mrs. Brown urges all members
of the League to contribute their
time and effort in behalf of the
War Chest Drive.

Youth Education League
Holds Membership Tea

On Wednesday, Oct. 11, a
membership tea was held at the
home of Mrs. P. Olender on
Broadstreet. Her co-hostesses for
the afternoon were Mrs. H. Good-
man, Mrs. G. Seyburn, Mrs. D.
Tann and Mrs. A. Lichter.
Mrs. Robert Lewiston, presi-
dent of the organization, gave a
brief outline of the work which
the Youth Educatoin League
does throughout the year and
introduced the various chairmen
for the coming year.
Mrs. C. W. Sucher, chairman
of ways and means, announced
the opening of the pledge fund
drive with Mrs. James V. Browne
as chairman and Mrs. Sidney
Kalt as her co-chairman. Mrs.
Charles Goldman has charge of
the year book, with Mrs. Ben
Tobin as her co-chairman. The
drive is getting under way im-
mediately.
Mrs. Adolph Lichter, chairman
of stamps and bonds, reported
that the new victory drive is un-
der way.
Mrs. Phillip Kollins, chairman
of the raffle affair, gave her
report.
Mrs. Jesse Rosen accompanied
Miss Marilyn Gelb, who enter-
tained the group with songs and
dances.

Card Party Planned
By Polonnoye Society

The Polonnoye-Volhynia Aid
Society will hold a card party
Sunday evening, Oct. 22, at the
Assembly Hall, 9125 Twelfth St.
The card party is being held
for the benefit of Jewish war
refugees. Admission is free and
no tickets are needed. The Pol-
onnoye-Volhynia Aid Society is
composed of members who come
from the area around Polonnoye
in the Province of Volhynia, the
Ukraine. It included landsleit
from Liuber, Chudnov, Romanov,
Novgorod Volynsk and the sur-
rounding area.

Detroit Jewish Consumptive Re-
lief Society of Denver, Colo.,

11. The chief topic of discus-
sion centered upon the plans for
the 12th annual banquet which
will be held on Sunday, Dec. 3,
at the Riviera Auditorium, at

Membership Tea Oct. 22

The first membership tea of
the season will be given by the
Naomi Young Women, Bnai Brith,
at the home of Joyce Seedberg,
