Bnai David Religious
School to Hold Sessions

School will once again meet to

Featured in the evening's pro-
gram was the dramatic and ef-
fective degree of initiation ren-
dered to representatives of the
new class by the Pisgah Lodge
Degree Team composed of Elias
Goldberg, Samuel W. Leib, Jos-
cph L. Staub, Clement Weitzman,
and Aaron Rosenberg.
Cantor Jacob Sonenklar sang
the musical portions of the degree
ceremony, and also sang solo
numbers, which were enthusias-
tically received. He was accom-
panied by Miss Lillian Robbins.
Isadore Starr, past president
of the Lodge and chairman of
the program committee, presided
at the meeting.
Isaac Wagner, who delivered
the principal address, pointed
out the potentialities in Bnai
David work, and the progressive
steps currently being taken to
meet the many demands of world
Jewry today.
Refreshments were served at
the conclusion of the meeting by
a committee headed by Jack
Schneider and Harry Moss.

Hold Open Meeting Oct. 4

Congregation Bnai Moshe will
observe the Succoth festival in
the traditional manner, with ser-
vices mornings and evenings, be-
ginning on Sunday. Morning de-
votions will begin at 9:00 and
evening services at 6:45. Cantor
music by David Katzman will lead the
prayers.
Rabbi Moses Fischer and Rabbi
Jacob J. Nathan will deliver the
sermons on alternate days. Yiz-
kor prayers will be said Monday.
Oct. 9. Hakofas in the evening

night, Sept. 25, in the auditorium
of the Jewish Community Cen-
ter, Pisgah Lodge No. 34 Bnai
Brith received recognition on
becoming the largest Bnai Brith
lodge in the world. Isaac Wagner
of Chicago, president of District
Grand Lodge No. 6, and Ben Z.
Glass, also of Chicago, executive
secretary of District Grand Lodge,
presented a recognition award in
the form of a beautiful, seven-
branched Menorah to Milton M.
Weinstein, president of Pisgah
Lodge. On accepting the Men-
orah on behalf of Pisgah Lodge,
Milton M. Weinstein expressed
his appreciation for the award.
Jack Leeds, former vice presi-
dent an membership chairman, on
furlough from the Navy, together
with Jack Lawson, his co-chair-
man, were cited for their leader-
ship in last year's membership
campaign, which netted over 1,-
100 new members and made Pis-
gah Lodge the largest Bnai Brith
organization in the world. They
presented a plaque on behalf of
the Lodge honoring the 43 men

will hold an open meeting at
the Louis Marshall Center, Rich-
ton and Linwood, at 7:30 p. m.
The only way members will
be able to attend will be by
bringing in old clothes. The old
clothes will be distributed to the
Red Cross and Russian Relief.
Girls will work on their Red
Cross knitting, stuffing of animals
for the children for Chanukah,
and some will make cancer band-
ages for the AWVS.
Miss Dorothy Greenbaum and
Edith Warshawsky are in charge
of this meeting. So bring your
sewing and knitting and join us
on Oct. 4.
