ing, has been promoted to Cap-
tain. Capt. Steinberg, who has
been in France since the inva-
sion, is with the Quartermaster
Department in Transportation.
He is a graduate of Wayne Uni-
versity and has been in the army
since June. 1941.

Miss Laura Levitt, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. A. Levitt of Ap-
poline Ave. is leaving this week-
e nd to enter the University of
Wisconsin, Madison, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Max Smitt of

riage of their daughter, Peggy,
to Capt. Harry M. Strauss, Jr.,
son of Mr. and Mrs. H. M.
Strauss of Birmingham, Ala., on
Sept. 8.
Capt. and Mrs. Strauss are re-
siding in Salt Lake City, Utah,
where Capt. Strauss is temporar-
ily stationed.
Mrs. Strauss attended LaSalle
Jr. College, Auburndale, Mass.,
and Capt. Strauss is a graduate
of Georgia Tech.

Mrs. Adolph H. Lichter of San
Juan Dr. entertained 40 guests
at a luncheon at the Hotel Stat-
ic'. 9n Saturday, Sept. 9.

Mr. and Mrs. Theodore H. 01-
lesheimer of the Wardell-Sher-
aton Hotel were hosts at a fam-
ily dinner honoring Lt. Donald
011esheimer.
Mrs. I. Wolff, who has been
visiting her niece, Mrs. Joseph
Levy of Calvert Ave., is leaving
for her home in San Antonio,

dughter of Mr. and Mrs. George
Lomish, Germantown, Pa., to
Sgt. Sherwin Davidson, son of
Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Davidson
of Birmingham and Detroit, was
performed Aug. 1 by Rabbi A.
M. Hershman.
The bride wore a white wool
street length dress with elbow
length gloves and white felt hat
swathed in pink veiling. She car-
ried an orchid surrounded by
gladiola petals, which formed a
small hand bouquet.
The ceremony was performed
at Rabbi Hershman's home and
was attended by the immediate
families. Samuel Beckman was
best man.
A wedding suppor at the Book-
Cadillc Hotel followed the cere-
mony.
The couple are now residing in
Hastings, Neb., where Sgt. David-
son is stationed.
