Young Women's Council Friendship Supper

Held in Yeshivah
Install Officers July 19
A friendship supper was held

The Young Women's Council
of Bnai Brith will install its new
officers Wednesday night, July 19,
in the home of Pauline Gorman.
Mrs. William Phillips, third vice-
president of the Pisgah Women's
Auxiliary, will be the installing
officer.
The following officers will offi-
cially take up their duties follow-
ing the ceremony: Dorothy Web-
er, president; Dorothy Cohen,
Sara Matz, vice presidents; Ray
Yanovsky, corresponding secre-
tary; Dorothy Berenson, record-
ing secretary, and Belle Haupt-
man, treasurer.
Members of the Council include
the past presidents, current presi-
dent, vice presidents, and a mem-
ber selected at large from each
of the four Young Women's
groups in Detroit. It was organ-
ized to serve as a clearing house
for the problems, suggestions and
mutual endeavors of each chapter.

connection with the Yeshivah
campaign which started at Pass-
over. Among the guests was Mr.
Finkelstein of Chicago, who pre-
sented the Yeshivah with a $500
check from the Ladies' Auxiliary
of Yeshivath Chachmey Lublin
of Chicago on account of their
pledge for a room. The late Mrs.
Finkelstein was the president of
the ladies' auxiliary of Chicago.
Jacob Soberman, president, was
the chairman for the evening and
presented a check for $300 from
Congregation Beth Yehuda on its
contribution pledge of $1,000
for the campaign. Morris Kaner,
who purchased a room in the
Yeshivah, paid the balance of his
pledge by presenting a check for
$200. Among the other contribu-
tions was a check from the La-
dies' Auxiliary for $500. The
total donations amounted to
$1,376. Among the speakers on
the program were Rabbi G. Fran-
kel, principal of the Hebrew Pa-
rochial School; Rabbi M. Roth-
enberg, dean; Rabbi A. M. Hersh-
berg and Rabbi Leizer Levin. A
financial report on the campaign
was made by Rabbi El Finkel.
Musical numbers were rendered
by Edward Turner, and songs
were sung by the Yeshivah stu-
dents.
