Annual Father and Son
Dinner on June 19

Young Israel of Detroit will
hold its annual Father and Son
dinner in connection with the
installation of officers on June
19, at 6:30 p. m., at Lachar's
Main Hall, 8939 12th St. An in-
teresting program will be offered
with Rabbi Morris Max of Man-
hattan Beach, N. Y., as guest
speaker. Rabbi Max is vice presi-
dent of the Rabbinical Council
of America and an outstanding
orthodox communal leader.
All members and friends of
Young Israel are cordially in-
vited to attend this affair. Tick-

ecutive director of Young Israel,

ander Roberg, David Schakney
and Abraham Panush.

All Hebrew teachers are mak-
ing a special effort to take an
active part in the Fifth War Loan
drive through all branches of the
United Hebrew SchoolS, under
the leadership of Rudolph Zuie-
back, the schools' president.
Greetings were sent to M.
Ribalow, editor of the Hebrew
weekly "Hadoar," on the occa-
sion of his 30 years work in the
field of Hebrew literature.
On Tuesday, June 13, the
members of the board of the
Sisterhood of Temple Israel and
committee chairmen will be guests
of Mrs. Benjamin E. Jaffee,
Huntington Woods, at luncheon
in her garden. Mrs. Jaffe is the
newly-elected treasurer of the
Sisterhood.
At this, the first board meeting
of the new year, the board will
be addressed by Mrs. Manuel E.
Brown, president of the Michi-
gan State Federation of Temple
Sisterhoods. Mrs. Brown and Mrs.
Joseph Wolf, state Federation
secretary, are the house guests
of Mrs. Harry Gittlen.

"Special Function of Sisterhoods
in a War Era" .
