Lt. Eli Levin Auxiliary to
Meet Tuesday, May 23

The Lt. Eli Levin Ladies' Aux-
iliary No. 230 of the Jewish War
Veterans will meet at the home
of Mrs. Harry Weisberg of 3521
Oakman Blvd. on Tuesday eve-
ning, May 23, at 8 o'clock.
Mrs. Ida Schultz, president,
will preside, and announces that
new members will take their ob-
ligations at this meeting. Mrs.
Luba Lupiloff and Mrs. Rose
Cantor, past presidents, will per-
form the ceremony. All members
are invited and urged to attend.
The Auxiliary No. 230 hostess
committee served hundreds of
service men at the USO.
April 27 was Auxiliary No.
230 hospital visiting day at the
Marine Hospital. One thousand
gifts were presented to the 350
disabled veterans. The next visit
will be to the Dearborn Hospital
in June.
Corporal Joseph Jessof was the
recipient of an artifiicial arm
purchased by the Auxiliary
through the Ida Hubbert Fund.
Corporal Jessof lost his arm in
Sicily.
The Auxiliary is now raising
funds to purchase artificial limbs.

Sunday afternoon, May 14, the
four chapters of the Young
Women of Bnai Brith will give
their joint annual Mothers and
daughters luncheon, in honor of
Mothers' Day. The luncheon will
be held at Webster Hall this
year and is scheduled to start
at 1 :30 p. m.
The guest speaker will be
Aaron Rosenberg, twice past
president of Pisgah Men's Lodge
of Bnai Brith, humorist, author
and executive member of the
Greater Detroit Bnai Brith Coun-
cil. Mickey Wolfe, popular young
Detroit master of ceremonies,
will provide an interlude of com-
edy and songs.
Highlighting the afternoon's
program will be the coronation
of the "Honor Queens" and "la-
dies-in-waiting". Every year the
young woman who has done the
most outstanding work for Bnai
Brith in her respective group is
chosen as "queen" and the two
girls who have done the next
most work are the "ladies-in-
waiting".
The "queens" will compete for
the district honor at the annuai
Young Women's Convention, to
be held in Chicago on June 16,
17 and 18.
Chairman for the Mothers' Day
affair is Dorothy Cohen, and her
co-chairman is Dorothy Teener.
Mildred Altman is working on
publicity, and ticket chairmen
for the individual groups are :
