Israel to Clear Boxes
For Vaad Hahatzalah

Mrs. Moses' L. Wieser, chair-
man of the Vaad Hahatzalah com-
mittee of the Women's League
of Young Israel, announces that
the boxes which have been dis-
tributed in some 400 Jewish
stores and homes will be cleared
during the interval between the
Purim and Passover festivals.
The funds collected will be used
to buy packages of food and
clothing for some 3,000 persons,
stranded in Asiatic Russia, Si-
beria and the Far East, main-
tained by Vaad Hahatzalah. Only
recently, this organization en-
tered into an agreement with the
Russian War Relief to transmit
for it 1,200 packages a month.
These parcels are delivered to
the stricken refugees without
duty. The national quota of Vaad
Hahatzalah for this year is
$1,250,000.
All Detroit boxholders are re-
quested to receive the volunteer
workers with the necessary cour-
