The ultimate result of years of Scientific research and experi-
menting by mink breeders. The changes of color are brought
about by scientific food diets and special breeding of mutations.
Often these color controls breed larger animals, fuller fur and
stronger pelts, as in the case of the Silver glue Platinum Mink,
which, of course, is a genuine natural color untouched by the

STARVE THE SQUANDER BUC

Symphony Season to
Cerniluth Chassodini Has
Sold $20,000 in War Bonds Close Thursday, Feb. 24

The Congregation Gemiluth
Chassodim, the organization of
the recent newcomers to Detroit
from Nazi dominated countries,
has participated energetically in
the 4th War Loan drive. Although
the great majority of the new
immigrants are factory and of-
fice workers who all had signed
up for bonds already at their
places of work, and although the
number of people involved is
relatively small, the amount of
war bonds sold by the 50 gal-
lants of the organization passed
the $20,000 goal set by the com-
mittee for war activities at the
outset of the drive.
At the conclusion of the drive
the congregation has arranged
a social gathering for Sunday,
Feb. 20, 7:30 p. m., at the social
hall of the Bnai David Syna-
gogue, Elmhurst and 14th. Ed-
ward Jenkins of the Treasury
Department, and Harold Silver,
director of the Jewish Social
Service, will address the meeting.
Rabbi Dr. S. R. Weiss will he
chairman of the evening. An en-
tertaining program has been pre-
pared. Refreshments will be
served. Everybody is heartily
welcome and there is no admis-
sion charge.

Karl Krueger and the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra will bring
to a close their triumphal 1943-
44 season on Feb. 24 with the
playing of the Tschaikovsky
Symphony No. 6 and Mr. Krue-
ger's Symphonic Synthesis from
"The Twilight of the Gods". The
Tschaikovsky "The Pathetique" is
being repeated because of the
numerous requests for it. Krue-
ger has encompassed in his Syn-
thesis from "Die Gotterdammer-
ung" the highlights of the com-
plete cycle and has woven the
material into a form as beau-
tiful as it is profound.
This season has been a phen-
omenal one in that, on very
short notice, the orchestra was
reorganized and season ticket
sales made a record by chalking
up 84 per cent of a 4,800 capac-
itiy house. On several occasions.
pit seats have been set in and
standing room was sold to accom-
modate the overflowing crowds.
It is estimated that Krueger and
the orchestra, in 18 Subscriptior
Concerts plus an extra evening,
have played to 95,000 people.
That, with the 60,000 reached in
12 Saturday Morning Children's
Concert Series, proves the far-
reaching arm of the Detroit Sym-
phony. The audiences have been
exceptionally responsive ones—
