Congregation Mishkan Israel
was founded in this city 32 years
ago, with its first synagogue on
Benton and Antoine Sts. The
early founders were mostly im-
migrants who came from the
neighborhood of Horodok, Rus-
sia, but the synagogue served all
the Jewish residents in its vi-
cinity.
In 1925, the Mishkan Israel
synagogue was one of the first to

nual Yeshivah month will be a
