In cooperation with other so-
cial agencies, the Jewish Com-
munity Center will have a com-
plete program for Social Hygiene

is dedicated to extending the un-
derstanding of the nation's num-
ber one health problem. This year
Social Hygiene Day will center
around a campaign against ve-
nereal disease, one of the most
difficult health problems of the
army, navy, war workers, and
youth.
The Center is planning to use
movies, exhibits, and literature to
inform the public of this prob-
lem. Activities at the Center
during the coming week will cen-
ter around this subject wherever

To Live" Billed Feb. 2

The regular bi-weekly film pro-
gram of the Jewish Community
Center will feature two sound
films on housing this Wednesday,
Feb. 2, at 8:45 p. in. "The City,"
an excellent documentary film,
deals with city planning and
housing in Greenbelt, Md. "A
place to Live" describes housing
conditions in Philadelphia.
Film programs are free to Cen-
ter members, and a nominal
charge is made to non-members.

Prof. McFarland To Be

Center this Monday at 8:30 p.

A special meeting of the Jew-
ish Womens European Welfare
Organization will be held Mon-
day, Jan. 30, at the Congregation
13nai Moshe, Dexter and Law-
rence, at 1 p. m.
At this meeting reports will be
heard from the investigating com-
mittees; also recommendations
from the board in connection
with giving aid to orphaned fam-
ilies; also reports in behalf of
the success of some affairs givers
before the end of 1943.

Jewish community and has long
been a leader in communal and
civic affairs. Miss Franklin was
a delegate to the World Zionist
Congress in 1929, 1931, 1935,
1937 and 1939 and was also a
delegate to the Youth Aliyah
Conference in Switzerland hell
in 1937. She is a deputy member
of the Jewish Agency. She was
chosen a delegate to the Ameri-
can Jewish Conference to rep-
resent the Chicago community.
Miss Franklin is a member of
the bar of Illinois and is an
instructor of political science at
Wright Junior College.
