state, then it is apparent that the policy
of the Agency and the Zionist Organiza-
tion has been faulty.
It is a far cry from a Jewish ghetto in
an Arab state to that of Jewish Common-
wealth status. It is as difficult to believe
that Britain wants to create an Arab
state as it is to believe that Britain would
grant the Jews of Palestine commonwealth
status at this time. We do believe that
Britain hopes that a modus vivendi, be-
tween Arabs and Jews, can be found. A
modus vivendi can hardly be found if
Arab extremists and Jewish extremists are
to continue to dominate their respective
groups.

chester Guardian in a recent editorial

Palestine not to resort to violence and
thus play into the hands of those who are
opposed to Jewish aspirations.
Those who have authority in Palestine
should heed the advice of the Manchester
Guardian, for it is the advice of an old
friend of Zionism.
We are hopeful that the demonstrations
and searches will soon come to an end,
but even though quiet is restored it does
not mean that the difficult and perplexing
taxed to the utmost.
The job of repatriation could be helped
materially if the Joint resolution now be-
fore Congress were enacted into law. The
resolution provides for the setting up of
a commission of diplomatic, economic and
military experts to work with neutral
countries bordering the occupied countries
of Europe, so as to enable the Jews of
the occupied countries to escape to the
neutral countries.
In the chaos that will no doubt obtain,
if and when the war is over, it will be
very difficult for the rescue agencies to
decide, with dispatch, where to repatriate
the unfortunate exiles.
If, however, any large number should
be placed in reservation camps in neutral
countries the experts would have the col-
lected data that would enable them to
repatriate with comparative ease.
If you have not already written or
wired your Senator or Representative
urging him to vote for the Joint Resolu-
tion to rescue the Jews of Europe, do
so at once.
