To Celebrate Golden
Wedding on Dec. 26
Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Levy, of
41 Christie St., Toronto, Ont., are
visiting their son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Apsel, of 2939 Buena Vista Ave.,
Detroit, Mich., who on the 26th
day of December, will celebrate
their golden wedding anniversary
at the Apsel residence,
Mr. and Mrs. Levy migrated
.,„ 1,
• to Canada in 1892 from Leeds,
England, and were married Dec.
27, 1893 at Hamilton, Ont., where
they resided a number of years.
They moved to Toronto, Ont., in
1910. Mr. Levy was the Toronto
representative of the Baron de
Hirsch Society of Montreal, Que.,
and helped many Jewish immi-
grants coming to Toronto and
other suburban towns.
Mr. and Mrs. Levy will leave
Family Court in 1912 in the ca-
pacity of probation officer and
justice of the peace and still re-
thins that position in that depart-
ment. They have one daughter,
Lillian Apsel, of Detroit, and two
sons, Wilfred and Irwin, in Los
Angeles, Calif., and four grand-
children.
