The Medical Officer

• ENGAGEMENTS

In the Army are the best Medi-
cal Officers of the Nation,
To give the American soldiers the
best medical attention for
the duration!
They come from all parts of the
land,
To give their country while in
need a hand.
The Medical Officers give up good
practices,
For the need of their services
they understand.
And willingly the medical soldiers
they teach and command!
In battle you will find—
That the Medical Officers carry
no weapons of any kind.
Their only weapons are great
courage and skill
That makes sure that the enemy
our wounded soldiers does
not kill!

V

The hardships of bivouacs and
long hikes the Medical Of-
ficers feel and know,
And they "double time" like the
soldiers everywhere they go;
The Medical Officers do every-
thing that the soldiers do,
But they have many other duties,
too.
Every morning at "sick call" th ey
examine the soldier's the st
and heart,
And check the function of eve ry
part;
The Medical Officers listen to all
kinds of complaints
And check to find the causes of
all types of pains;
To the soldiers that are real ly
sick
They give treatments to ease the it
pain quick.
