Abraham Srere, president of the Jewish Welfare Federation and the, convenor of the Confer- ence, presided. Mr. Srere explained the pro- cedure of the election of the as- sembled delegates, and Benjamin Laikin explained the procedure in Yiddish. One hundred forty-seven organ- izations chose 564 delegates and there were 54 names on the bal- lot. Practically 100 per cent of the accredited delegates attendM the meeting.
