Philomathic Medal
Winners Announced

Lawrence J. Arden received the
gold medal for being best speaker
at the model meeting debate of
the Philomathic Debating Club
last Thursday. Silver medal for
second best speaker went to My-
ron Rosenthal, while Donald
Schiff captured the bronze medal.
These decisions were reached by
the judges, who were Max Ed-
wards, Isadore Berger and Alex-
ander Knoppow. By a vote of the
organization, the affirmative team
was declared winner of the de-
bate.
Elections for club offices will be
held this Sunday. At the regular
meeting of last Sunday, extempo-
raneous speeches were given by
all the members present. Sherwin
Wine, who has just been admitted
to membership, was elected best
speaker of the afternoon.
Following the program, the
critic's report was delivered by
Sidney Zilber. Thr'ee important
constitutional amendments were
passed during the business meet-
ing of the afternoon.
