The music department of the
Jewish Community Center an-
nounces the last in the series of
musicales which will take place
Judge D. J. Healy of the Ju-
venile Court will address the New
Detroiters' Discussion Group, on
Saturday, May 15, at 8:30 p. m.,
in the Conference room of the
Jewish Community Center. His
topic will be "Children's Delin-
quency in War Time."
"The Patriots" To Be
Reviewed at Book Chat
Sidney Kingley's prize - win-
ning play, "The Patriots," will
be reviewed by Catharine Haug-
hey at the next book-chat pro-
gram, on Tuesday, May 18. The
reviews are held at 8:30 in the
adult lounge of the Jewish Com-
munity Center, Woodward at Hol-
brook.
To Show Three Films

Detroit contralto, member of the
Temple Beth El quartette, will
be heard in a group of Russian
songs.
Lare Wardrop, oboe player of
the Detroit Symphony orchestra,
will give the Detroit first per-
formance of Hugo Kauder's Trio
together with Morris Hochberg,
New York City, is one of the
pianist. Kauder, at present, in
violinist, and Sylvia Hochberg,
foremost Vienese Jewish com-
posers of this generation. His
compositions, mostly Chamber
Music Works, have been per-
formed all over Europe and re-
cently in many American cities
by outstanding soloists.
As the last number of the pro-
gram, Schubert's Symphony Num-
ber 5 will be played in its en-
tirety by the Center Symphony
Orchestra under the direction of
Julius Chajes, director of music
at the Center.
Admission will be by ticket
only. Tickets may be obtained
free of charge prior to the day
of the concert at the Center
office.
Three films will be shown at
the Jewish Community Center on
Monday, May 17, at 8:30 p. m.
Included in the program are
"Western Front," which deals
with the role that China continues
to play as one of the United Na-
tions, "Price of Victory," which
is a graphic portrayal of Vice-
President Wallace's famous ar-
ticle, "The People on the March."
and "The World We Want to
Live In," a film which brings
home realistically the importance
of the freedoms we enjoy. The
films are part of a Spring series
entitled "The People's War."
The program will be held in the
adult lounge, and is free to Cen-
ter members. A small charge is
made to non-members.
Square Dancing Classes
On Wednesday Nights

Congress
A trial attorney from the
Washington office of the Presi-
dent's Committee on Fair Em-
ployment Practice arrived in De-
troit on Thursday to begin final
preparations for the public hear-
ing of the committee, scheduled
for May 24 and 25, was made
known by the Metropolitan De-
troit Council on Fair Employment
Practices, the local citizens com-
mittee interested in the widest
use of all persons in war pro-
duction regardless of their race,
color, religioin or national origin.
The trial attorney is Maceo W.
Hubbard, graduate of the Har-
vard Law School and for several
years a leading counsel in Phila-
delphia. He has been associated
with the government for about a
year on the staff that enforces
