others who would be added to

to be their comrades-in-arms.

own leaders, for those who still

feel that one must regard our
other great ally, Soviet Russia,
with suspicion or caution for
fear of revolution, let this little
incident relating to our own
United States be told of Joe Louis.
When Louis heard that his own
people were being influenced by
enemy propaganda which stressed
the unhappy lot of Negroes in
the `United States and put in
question the promised benefits of
winning the war abroad, he said,
"Yes, there are many things
wrong here, but Hitler won't fix
them."
As Americans, Jews and phys-
icians it should be clear to all
of us that we are fighting for
our existence. Our foe on the
battlefield and within our own
land will slop at nothing to bring
us down. Ours is a triple heri-
tage to defend, every part of
which breathes the freedom of
man. Let every man do his part.
We cannot fail.

Two refugees from Hitler who reached America by way of
Portugal after fleeing from France are joyfully greeted by their
son, a private in the U. S. Army. The young soldier and a
brother who preceded the parents to this country arranged for
their immigration. Migration services afforded by the National
Refugee Service helped make possible their coming.
