Temple Israel
To Celebrate
Founders' Night

Rabbi Fram To Talk
On Meaning of Purim

celebrate
Temple Israel will
Founders' Night at its Sabbath
Eve Service, Friday night, March
26.
The Founders' Night Services
will take place in the great audi-
torium of the Detroit Institute
of Arts (John R entrance).
Since the Temple is less than
two years old, everyone who is
now a member of the congregation
is a founder of Temple Israel.
Until the building of Temple Is-
rael is completed, the families
who are now affiliated and who
will join before the Temple struc-
ture is erected will be designated
as the Founding Family of Tem-
ple Israel.
By a resolution passed by the
Board of Trustees at its meeting
Monday night, March 15, it was
decided that the Purim Family
Friday night service shall each
year be designated as a special
occasion for the rallying of the
founders of the Congregation.
Every member of Temple Is-
rael is therefore asked to conic
next Friday night with his en-
tire family. All the children are
welcome, provided each child who
collies is of an age when he can
appreciate the service and main-
tain its decorum during the hour
and a half of the service's dura-
tion.
To render this occasion espe-
cially significant and inspiring,
the great choir of Temple Israel,
under the direction of Dan Fro-
ham, will render a special pro-
gram of Sabbath and Purim mu-
sic. Cantor Robert S. Tulman,
accompanied by Karl W. Haas,
at the great auditorium organ,
will chant the colorful melodies
of Sabbath and of Purim. The
youth Choi' s of Temple Israel
will also sing in honor of the oc-
casion. Rabbi Frani will preach
on "The Current Significance of
Purim."
The Bar Matzvah celebration of
Edward Spivack, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Daniel Spivack, will take
place at this Sabbath Eve's Serv-
ice.
Mr. and Mrs. Spivack will be
hosts to the entire Congregation
at the Social Hour which will
follow the services.
The flowers which will deco-
rate the pulpit at this great
Founders' and Purim Family Serv-
ice will be the gift of the par-
ents of the Bar Mitzvah cele-
brant.
